Problem: ABS warning light is ON all the time

Firstly I found the connectors of the ABS sensors.
Measurement showed that the left rear sensor was broken (resistance is Infinite instead of 0 Ohms).
I bought a new original sensor (costs 780 kroner!)

I jacked up and removed the left rear wheel. After that the arm was supported so it was save to get under the car.
Then the brake drum had to be removed in order to take a look on the inside.
First the hat of the bearing was removed.

Then the split was removed and the bearing could be taken out.

Now the sensor can be seen, between the axle and the upper spring.
Also notice the tooth-ring inside the drum.

Then the sensor mounting screw of the bad sensor had to be be removed.
BUT, oh disaster, the screw broke. See the clean spot on the back of the drum, where the screw through the sensor has broken off.

brakes broken

It turned out that the screw is not completely going through the brake-plate, but only through the outer part.
Thus the complete brake-plate and braking cylinders should be removed in order to drill out the broken screw.
That was just to much !!!!!!!!
I gave up.
So I had to put everything together again and let VW do the job instead.
That costed approx 2500 kr......
